Bolivar: GOOD. 81 degrees. Fishing has been great this past week. Many reports of bull redfish, flounder, redfish, and jackfish. Most catches are coming with live finger mullet, fresh cut bait, or squid.

Trinity Bay: GOOD. 73 degrees. Northern portions of the bay have started to hold some keeper speckled trout, redfish, and sheepshead.

East Galveston Bay: FAIR. 73 degrees. Flounder are good showing along the bay shorelines and near the ferry landing. There are still lots of undersized trout throughout the bay. Redfish are good, schooling in the deeper water.

Galveston Bay: GOOD. 73 degrees. Protected water is producing a mix of speckled trout, sheepshead, black drum and sand trout. Most being caught on live shrimp. Over in the jetties and beachfront there are bull reds and-oh wait-more bull reds. Some slot redfish are also being caught along with a few keeper black drum. Galveston harbor is starting to see flounder move into the area.

West Galveston Bay: GOOD. 73 degrees. Speckled trout are good with lots of schools out there. Drift with soft plastics and live shrimp. Wade fishing is proving to be the most successful. Few keeper redfish in the bay, along with some decent catches of flounder.

Texas City: GOOD. 73 degrees. The fishing report remains the same for those Texas slams, flounder, speckled trout, slot redfish, fish in the bay using artificials, and live shrimp.

Freeport: GOOD. 80 degrees. The flounder are moving after the recent cold front. Redfish are schooling and feeding up like crazy. Reports of redfish anywhere from 26-32 inches. Chase the bird action to find schools of fish. Catching fish on gulp shrimp under a popping cork.

East Matagorda Bay: FAIR. 82 degrees. The shrimp are still coming out of the marshes and the birds are actively chasing. Drifting or wade fishing for redfish and flounder using artificials or live shrimp. Wade fish the drains for flounder. There is an influx of large sand trout. Many reports of success in the mouth of the Colorado River.

West Matagorda Bay: FAIR. 82 degrees. The shrimp are still coming out of the marshes and the birds are actively chasing. Drifting or wade fishing for redfish and flounder using artificials or live shrimp. Wade fish the drains for flounder.

Port O’Connor: GOOD. 82 degrees. Fishing is consistent with what we have been seeing recently. Bull redfish are biting on sardines and live piggy perch over by the jetty. They are coming to spawn, and their increased numbers have pushed trout into the bay system. Trout are slow. Black drum are good on dead shrimp. A few 5-20 pound tarpon are being caught using live croaker.
