The area is well-represented in the initial preseason soccer polls, as Friendswood’s girls’ ranked atop the 5A/4A rankings, while Texas City’s girls’ squad comes in 15th in the same poll. In Class 6A, Clear Springs girls’ are ranked 8th. Friendswood’s boys’ team is ranked 8th in the 5A/4A poll. Friendswood junior forward Olivia Schmidt and senior defender Emma Saldana were each selected to the Greater Houston area Starting XI team in girls’ 5A/4A.
