ARE YOU LOOKING FOR your fill of high school basketball? If yes, then
Monday and Tuesday will offer a buffet of games that will see each of
the area’s 11 high school basketball teams – both boys’ and girls’ – in
action. The week starts with both the Texans and Cowboys looking to
keep their winning ways as both face stiff road tests.
SUNDAY: The hottest team in the NFL comes bidding for a seventh
straight win as the Texans visit the Redskins beginning at noon. Houston
hold a one game lead over the Titans in the AFC South and will look to
maintain it at the expense of a 6-3 Redskins team that holds first place
in the NFC East. T his is only the fifth meeting b etween the teams, with
Houston and Washington tied at 2-2. KHOU11 will have the game live.
Following a win over the Eagles, the Cowboys will look to gain momentum
as they take on the Falcons at noon. Two games behind the Redskins
in the NFC East, Dallas faces an Atlanta team that is also fighting
to stay alive in the hunt for the NFC playoff chase. The Cowboys hold
a 14-11 series edge over the Falcons and will seek to extend that edge
on Fox26.
MONDAY: A busy Monday of boys’ basketball tips off at 1:00pm when
Clear Springs visits Brazoswood, followed by Friendswood at Clear Falls
and Brazosport at Hitchcock at 1:30pm. Santa Fe concludes the docket
when the Indians travel to play Industrial.
On the girls’ basketball side of the ledger, Galveston Ball takes on Hitchcock
at 12:15pm, while Dickinson is at Brazoswood, with George Ranch
at Clear Falls and Clear Springs at North Shore each start at 1:00pm.
Clear Brook at Barbers Hill begins at 1:30pm, while Texas City at Lumberton
tips off at 3:00pm.
TUESDAY: The girls’ hoops slate starts at 11:00am when Navasota visits
Hitchcock. Friendswood at Houston Christian Academy and Pasadena
Rayburn at La Marque each tip off at 12:30pm. Brazosport at Dickinson,
Clear Brook at Fort Bend Austin, Clear Creek at Fort Bend Hightower,
Clear Springs at Houston Westside and Clear Falls at Manvel all start at
1:00pm. Texas City at Beaumont United closes out the day at 3:00pm.
An active boys’ basketball schedule starts with South Houston at Friendswood
and Hitchcock at Houston Heights at 1:00pm. Wharton at stateranked
La Marque gets underway at 1:30pm. Galveston Ball at Alvin,
Baytown Lee at Clear Brook, Channelview at Clear Creek and Texas
City at Dickinson are each 2:00pm tipoffs. Alief Taylor at Clear Springs
starts at 2:30pm, while La Porte at Clear Falls begins at 3:00pm.
