Today we are pleased to announce a return vendor Rene’ Armstrong will once again have a booth. Creating is essential to Rene – it completes her life. She finds great joy in exploring the WHAT IF aspect of combining various medium in unexpected ways. No longer bound by traditional designs and applications, her work has evolved from representational JUST THE FACTS MA’AM, to a free-flowing abstract style – sometimes minimalist, sometimes conceptual. The vibrant colors of dichroic glass, coupled with the unrestrained blending of acrylic on canvas and polymer clay, provide Rene’ with limitless resources to inspire my designs. Occasionally, she collaborates with other artists to bring a new material into my work. Her work begins with a concept, but always evolves into a specific destiny as the merging of media unfolds before her. Rene’ was born and raised in Texas City, Texas. In retirement, she now satisfies her creative desire by painting, fusing glass, making hand-crafted jewelry, and writing. She is the author of “Wings and a Ring: Letters of War and Love from a WWII Pilot”. Her first children’s book is about an adventure she experienced with a green tree frog. “Gwendolyn: A Frog’s Perilous Adventure” is complimented by a 7” plush toy she designed and had manufactured. She is also the owner of a medical-device patent.
