Everyone was so excited about the re-opening of our beloved Moore Memorial Library and now the library is closed to the public due to the coronavirus. We must be patient as this too shall pass. The Library is doing their part to keep us safe and we must do the same.
The library might be closed, but the staff is continuing to work hard for you from behind the scenes! They are bringing you the latest news, activities, top reads and links to awesome web content while we all “stay-at-home”.
MMPL is now issuing temporary library card numbers to increase access to their online books, streaming video, databases, and other electronic resources.
Call them at 409-643-5975 or email them at firstname.lastname@example.org.
They will need your NAME, PHONE NUMBER, DRIVER’S LICENSE (or state ID) NUMBER and ADDRESS. All Texas residents are eligible for a library card. Once they reopen these temporary cards will be deactivated. You will need to come in person to prove identity and mailing address for the card to be reactivated.
Please do NOT return items to the library until further notice.
They are also waiving fines for the period they are closed.
Thank you all for your support as they focus on keeping our library environment safe for the staff and community. Check the library website for updated information.
Now that parents are “Homeschooling” you might need some additional resources to keep your children active. GoNoodle offers fun interactive games and videos so they’ll keep moving! Also try visiting the Smithsonian Learning Lab, the National Geographic Kids website and Khan Academy.
Don’t forget now is also the time to teach your child “Life Lessons”. Such as Honesty, Good Manners, Healthy Food Choices, Respect, Time Management and so much more.
Take Care and enjoy your family time!
