THE ASTROS AND ROCKETS will continue to dominate the sports schedule during a period when high school volleyball normally would have had center stage. While the Astros look to push toward the postseason as the midway point of the abbreviated campaign approaches, the Rockets could be in position to move one step closer to the NBA Finals.

Sunday: Zack Greinke (1-0, 1.84 ERA) takes the mound for the Astros in the series finale at the Padres, a game that will be televised nationally on ESPN at 3:00pm. Greinke will have to wait to find out who San Diego counters against him, as the Padres have not announced a starter. Regardless, AT&T Sportsnet Southwest will also have coverage starting with the pregame show at 2:30pm.

Monday: Houston opens a 10-game homestand when the Astros welcome the Angels in the opener of a four-game series beginning at 8:10pm. Framber Valdez (2-2, 1.72 ERA) will get the start for Houston, while Patrick Sandoval (0-2, 5.03 ERA) will get the nod for Los Angeles. AT&T Sportsnet Southwest will begin coverage with the pregame show at 7:30pm.

It’s possible the Rockets could close out their Western Conference quarterfinals series against the Thunder when the two play in Game Four starting at 3:00pm. Houston won the first two games of the series leading into Saturday’s third game. TNT will have the national telecast while AT&T Sportsnet Southwest will also have the game starting with the pregame show at 2:30pm.

Tuesday: Rookie Cristian Javier (2-2, 3.55 ERA) will have his number called for the Astros when they face the Angels starting at 8:10pm. As of Friday evening’s press time, Los Angeles had not announced a starter. To find out who the Angels will start, turn to AT&T Sportsnet Southwest starting at 7:30pm with the pregame show.
