year of hoops and soccer. Fans should take advantage and watch the action for the area’s high school athletes.
WEDNESDAY: Open slate, as a Baytown Sterling at La Marque boys’ soccer
match was cancelled due to coronavirus concerns.
THURSDAY: The final boys’ high school basketball games for the calendar year will have Clear Brook at Brazoswood, Clear Creek at Clear Springs and Texas City at Santa Fe. Each contest begins at 1:00pm.
The girls’ basketball schedule starts early with state-ranked Hitchcock at Danbury beginning at 10:00am, followed by Galveston Ball at Manvel at 11:00am.
Brazoswood at Clear Brook, Clear Creek at Clear Springs, Clear Falls at Clear
Lake and Santa Fe at Texas City are each 1:00pm starts.
In girls’ high school soccer, Friendswood visits Brazoswood at 12:00pm.
The Rockets host their annual New Year’s Eve game as they host the Kings
beginning at 6:00pm. AT&T Sportsnet Southwest will have their game live beginning with the pregame show at 5:30pm.
FRIDAY: No games on the schedule for New Year’s Day.
SATURDAY: The new year begins with a host of boys’ basketball, starting with Dickinson at Clear Brook, Clear Creek at Clear Lake, Brazoswood at Clear Springs, Houston Episcopal at La Marque and Baytown Sterling at Texas City beginning at 1:00pm. Hitchcock at Hamshire-Fannett tips off at 1:30pm, while Santa Fe at Tomball Memorial starts at 2:00pm.
The first girls’ high school basketball games of the new year will have Clear

Santa Fe High School will hold its annual alumni soccer matches, with the girls’ hitting the pitch at 2:00pm, followed by the boys’ at 4:00pm.
Friendswood’s boys’ soccer team will begin its regular season with a home
match against Dayton starting at 6:30pm.
