ALTHOUGH THE SCHEDULE IS quiet on Sunday and Monday, Tuesday more than makes up for it with a loaded slate that includes an interesting tilt between the Wizards and Rockets. High school soccer will be the centerpiece of the night, with a host of games across the area.
Sunday: No local sports on the schedule.
Monday: No local high school varsity sports on the schedule.
Tuesday: In the only game on the high school girls’ basketball schedule, La Marque visits Brazosport at 6:30pm.
Meanwhile, the boys’ high school basketball schedule will have Galveston Ball at Friendswood at 4:30pm, followed by La Porte at Texas City at 6:00pm. Brazosport at La Marque gets underway at 7:00pm, while Houston Harmony at Hitchcock starts at 7:30pm.
A busy high school boys’ soccer schedule will have Manvel at Galveston Ball at 7:00pm, with Clear Lake at Clear Brook, Clear Creek at Brazoswood, Clear Falls at Dickinson, Friendswood at La Porte, Splendora at La Marque and Baytown Sterling at Texas City each starting at 7:30pm.
The girls’ high school soccer schedule starts with Splendora at La Marque at 5:30pm, while The Woodlands at Clear Springs starts at 6:15pm. Clear Brook at Clear Lake, Brazoswood at Clear Creek, Dickinson at Clear Falls, La Porte at Friendswood, Galveston Ball at Manvel and Texas City at Baytown Sterling each begin at 7:30pm.
It will be a reunion of sorts when the Rockets host the Wizards for a 7:00pm tip. The game will be the first time former Wizards All-Star and current Rockets guard John Wall plays against his former teammates, but it is doubtful former Rockets guard Russell Westbrook, who was traded to Washington for Wall, will be available as he has not played since sustaining a quadriceps injury on January 6. AT&T Sportsnet Southwest will start coverage with the pregame show at 6:30pm.
