
WHILE BASKETBALL AND SOCCER CONTINUE to take centerstage, the week begins with a host of high school softball scrimmages that will feature Santa Fe, the state’s top-ranked team in Class 5A, and Dickinson’s fourth-ranked 6A squad. Now is a good time to get familiar with these two teams, who could be playing well into early June.
Sunday: There’s no football on today, folks. Now is a good time to get used to it.
Monday: One high school boys’ basketball game is on the schedule as Santa Fe visits Manvel at 6:00pm. There is also one girls’ basketball game on the slate as Manvel visits Galveston Ball at 5:45pm.
The slate of high school softball scrimmages begins with North Shore takes on Clear Creek at 6:00pm.
The Rockets will play the first of consecutive games at the Thunder starting at 7:00pm. AT&T Sportsnet Southwest will have coverage beginning with the pregame show at 6:30pm.
Tuesday: Softball scrimmages galore highlight the schedule beginning with La Marque at Fort Bend Willowridge at 5:30pm, followed by state-ranked Santa Fe at Clear Brook, Clear Springs at Spring in a tri-scrimmage with Klein, Friendswood at Dawson and Pasadena Rayburn at Texas City each starting at 6:00pm. Houston Chavez at Clear Falls and state-ranked Dickinson at Dobie are both 6:30pm starts.
The high school boys’ high school basketball slate will have Sweeny at La Marque at 6:30pm and Van Vleck at Hitchcock at 8:00pm.
Meanwhile, La Marque at Sweeny starts the girls’ high school basketball schedule at 5:45pm, followed by Galveston Ball at Baytown Lee at 6:00pm. State-ranked Hitchcock at Van Vleck starts at 6:30pm.
A busy night of boys’ high school soccer will have La Marque at East Chambers at 6:00pm, with Clear Creek at Clear Brook, Clear Falls at Clear Springs, Brazoswood at Dickinson and Baytown Lee at Friendswood beginning at 7:30pm.
The girls’ high school soccer schedule will have Clear Brook at Clear Creek, Clear Springs at Clear Falls, Dickinson at Brazoswood and Friendswood at Baytown Lee each starting at 7:30pm.
