I had my article ready to send in a few days ago. I liked it and felt good about it, but one of my daughters was in an accident which has left her paralyzed below the waist, and she has numerous other injuries. We can’t see or visit with her because of Covid. She had surgery alone, woke up alone, and to be honest, I cannot even wrap my head around it all. She has three children, one of which will turn 13 this month. She has grandbabies. She was working two jobs as a single parent to try and make ends meet. She is fierce, bold, and as tough as she needs to be. Her life has changed beyond comprehension and will affect her family, too. I finally got to speak to her on the phone and do you know what she said? Not, “oh poor me, I’m paralyzed.” She told me, “I’ve got this Mom”. I’m not even going to write more about this horrific trauma. Just remember, no matter what you are facing, remember her courageous words: “I’ve got this!”
