
On February 3, 20 Friendswood High School seniors signed their letters of intent on
National Signing Day.
Brynna Halata signed a letter of intent to run track and field for Friends University. She earned
first-place for team district and area track and field (2018-19) and second place in pole vaulting
district and area (2019-20).
Eli Karg signed a letter of intent to run cross country for Trinity University. Her accolades
include Most Improved Runner (2017-18), second place Cross Country Varsity District (2019),
third place in area for 3200 and 1600 (2020), Cross Country District Champion (2020) and team
captain (2020).
Lezli Sisung signed a letter of intent to swim for the University of Kansas. During her time at
FHS, Sisung earned All-American honors (2018, 2019, 2020), was named team captain (2020-
21), was a state finalist in backstroke and fly (2019, 2020), broke the pool and team records in
100 backstroke (2019), and broke the 200 medley relay state record (2020).
Victoria Davis signed a letter of intent to play soccer for Louisiana State University Shreveport.
Her accolades include all-district honorable mention (2018), first-team All-District and All-
County (2019, 2020), Defensive Player of the Year (2020) and I-10 Texas Shootout Soccer 2021
All-Tournament Player.
Isaiah Daniels signed a letter of intent to play football for Birmingham Prep Foundation. His
honors include All-District honorable mention.
Cole Kelly signed a letter of intent to play football for Lamar University. During his time at
FHS, Kelly earned first team All-District honors.
Elliot Spiller signed a letter of intent to play football for Trinity Valley Community College. His
accolades include 2020-21 Team Captain, 2020-21 first team All-District, and Bayway Lincoln
Player of the Week.
Ashlyn Svoboda signed a letter of intent to play volleyball for Northwestern State University.
Her honors include being named team captain (2018-2020), Galveston County Player of the Year (2019, 2020), Team MVP (2018, 2019, 2020), District MVP (2018, 2020), 2019 All-Star team, GHVCA Player of the Year (2018, 2019), and Academic All-District (2018, 2019, 2020).
Anna Lippert signed a letter of intent to play volleyball for McNeese State University. Her
honors include second team All-District (2020), All-County honorable mention (2020),
Academic All-District (2019, 2020), and GHVCA Academic Team.
Hannah Johnston signed a letter of intent to play golf for Stephen F. Austin. Her accolades
include first team All-District (2020) and regional qualifier (2018, 2019).
Adri McElwain signed a letter of intent to play tennis for the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor.
Her honors include being named the 2020-21 Co-Captain, first team All-District singles (2018,
2019, 2020), first team All-District doubles (2018, 2019, 2020), and Academic All-District
(2018, 2019, 2020).
Ashlyn Ryall signed a letter of intent to play basketball for Friends University. Her accolades
include being named team captain, first team All-District, Academic All-District, Newcomer of
the Year and Rookie of the Year.
Lauren Adams signed a letter of intent to play softball for Louisiana State University Eunice. Her
honors include second team All-District.
Caylynn Esparza signed a letter of intent to play softball for the University of Mississippi. Her
accolades include team defensive player of the year, first team All-County and holding the single
season RBI record.
Tricia Yarotsky signed a letter of intent to play softball for Sam Houston State University.
During her time at FHS, Yarotsky earned honors including first team All-District, first team All-
County, District Offensive Player of the Year, All-County MVP, first team Greater Houston, first
team All-State, and the holder of five school records.
Michyla Saenz signed a letter of intent to play softball for Blinn College.
Misael Cantu signed a letter of intent to play baseball at Doane University.
Kevin Newkirk signed a letter of intent to play baseball for Blinn College. His honors include
being named team captain (2019, 2020, 2021), second team All-District (2018) and first team
All-District (2019).
Izaac Pacheco signed a letter of intent to play baseball for Texas A&M University. During his
time at FHS, Pacheco was named captain (2018-2021), Newcomer of the Year (2018), first-time
All-County (2018), and All-District Offensive MVP (2019).
Luke Grden signed a letter of intent to play football for Kilgore College. His accolades include
second team All-District quarterback, first team All-District punter, and selected for the Houston
Touchdown Club.
