Having been born and raised in Galveston County, there are three givens: death, high school football and great cooking.

Although fully aware I could skip a meal or two, there’s no denying I appreciate a a great meal. Food has defined many a moment in my life, as I have enjoyed the cooking from many a friend, while also making new ones through the county’s culinary scene.

That’s why I want to invite you, the community of Galveston County, to share your recipes in The Post Newspaper. Thousands of you have hidden gems that we would love to display not only in our print edition, but also on our Facebook and Instagram pages. We are continuing to expand our presence with videos, which opens the door for you to bring your A-game in either the kitchen or the grill.

Consider this a call to plates if you will. Send us your best recipes to Brandon@thepostnewspaper.net, and we will feature your cooking on Page 7 of our Sunday editions. Be it taco pie, grilled trout, peanut butter cookies or your version of a comfort meal, don’t be shy. We will happily take each recipe you send and share with our Galveston County family and friends.

There is great joy to include our readers into our publication. After all, this is your paper, and we, the staff and family of The Post Newspaper, are but mere guardians.

Happy Cooking,

Brandon C. Williams
