Monday is Happy New Year for the 2021-22 high school sports season, with football and volleyball practices across the state. While local prep athletes get into gear, the Astros will garner plenty of attention with a visit to the Dodgers in what may not be the only time they visit the defending World Series champs this year.
Sunday: The month of August begins in San Francisco as the Astros close out a series against the Giants beginning at 3:05pm. AT&T Sportsnet Southwest starts coverage with the pregame show at 2:30pm.
Monday: Finally, the 2021-22 high school sports year begins as most area high school football and volleyball teams start their official practice schedules. The long summer hours of working out in the weight room will begin to pay off, while coaches will also find out who’s worked out and who spent the summer loafing on social media and video games.
Tuesday: It’s another potential World Series preview as the Dodgers welcome the Astros for a two-game set starting at 9:10pm. AT&T Sportsnet Southwest will have coverage starting at 8:30pm with the pregame show.
