Thursday: It’s tournament time for high school volleyball teams, with the biggest being the Adidas John Turner Classic in Pearland, which will see Clear Brook, Clear Creek, and Clear Falls among the teams involved. Meanwhile, Dickinson and Galveston Ball will be at the Pasadena Memorial Tournament, while Friendswood travels to the Round Rock Tournament. The Texas City High School tennis team hosts Alief Hastings beginning at 4:00pm.
The Astros start a seven-game road trip with a weekend set against an Angels team that remains in the hunt for the American League West title. Gametime is set for 8:38pm, with AT&T Sportsnet Southwest starting its coverage at 8:00pm with the pregame show.
The Cowboys begin their preseason slate when they visit the Cardinals. The game can be seen on NFL Network starting at 9:00pm.
Saturday: Santa Fe takes on visiting St. John’s in high school volleyball play starting at 2:00pm.
