SANTA FE, TX, February 8 – Every year, the Santa Fe Texas Chamber of Commerce accepts nominations for a variety of categories including Large Business of the Year, Small Business of the Year, New Chamber Investor of the Year, Citizen of the Year, Volunteer of the Year, and Non-Profit of the Year. An email is sent to all chamber member investors with the list of all chamber member investors and the respective categories that they fall under for nominations. Those nominations are tallied and then the nominees are sent out to the chamber member investors and added on social media for voting.

Nominees wrote the following comments about the Santa Fe TX Education Foundation, “[They] provide help to our teachers and students. I nominate the SFTXEF as Non-Profit of the Year because of their commitment to their mission of supporting the schools, the teachers, and the students in bigger ways than have been done before. Hearing that the amount they awarded was the most ever at one time, they are doing great work. They promote shopping local and had a campaign in December. Seeing their successes in the papers and their involvement in the Chamber makes me nominate them. Awarded teachers and staff about $82k this past grants cycle. Had a record year in donations and scholarships. Gina and Jeannie do a fantastic job!”

“It is such an honor knowing that our community nominated our Foundation as Non-Profit of the Year, amongst all of the other amazing Non-Profit Organizations who are members of the Santa Fe Texas Chamber of Commerce. Jeannette Thielemann and I work hard day-in and day-out to support our educators and students and the programs in Santa Fe ISD, so the fact that this work is recognized means so much. We have a large team who works with us to achieve our goals and to fulfill our mission – our Board of Directors. We are entering twelve years of serving Santa Fe ISD and have so much more to do. We are just getting started! Thank you so much for awarding us with this honor,” Gina Welsh, Executive Director, Santa Fe TX Education Foundation.
