At a time when all businesses are looking for ways to recruit and retain employees, the Texas City-La Marque Chamber of Commerce offers an exciting program for businesses to recognize and reward valued female workers.
To recognize women who are vital to the success of local organizations, the Chamber coordinates the annual “Women in Leadership Awards.” (W.I.L.A.) Nominees must work for a current Texas City-La Marque Chamber member business/organization and be nominated in one of these six “branches” of leadership: Large Business, Small Business, Woman-Owned Business, Education Sector, Volunteer/Non-Profit and Young Professional (under 40).
Nominations are being accepted by the Texas City-La Marque Chamber of Commerce until July 7, 2022. The nomination form is available online at www.TCLMchamber.com.
Once nominated, women will be invited to proceed with the awards process and complete a participation agreement. Nominees must agree to the requirements for Finalists which includes answering an essay question and supplying background information and photos.
Honorees are chosen based on their display in the workplace of integrity, passion, humility, empathy, collaboration, servant leadership, uplifting others, and adding value to others.
A selection of 18 Finalists, three from each branch of leadership, will be announced the first week in August. Then, the 6 ultimate award winners will be announced at the “Women in Leadership Awards” luncheon on Wednesday, September 14, at the Doyle Convention Center in Texas City.
There will be exciting pre-event promotions in the local media and video tributes that will be showcased live and on social media/online platforms.
The judging process for this awards program is done by a panel of women in current leadership positions in the Texas City/La Marque business community. The “WILA” award itself is a stunning piece of custom jewelry that is treasured recipients and held in high regard in the community.
A portion of the proceeds from this event will be donated in the name of each award winner to a 501(C)3 non-profit organization of their choice.
By submitting a nomination, local business leaders can honor key women in their organizations and hopefully inspire others to strive for excellence in their professional and personal lives!
