Dickinson High School alum Chris Welch was named the Mountain Region Field Athlete of the Year after the Texas Tech track and field star received first-team All-America honors in the triple jump. Welch finished sixth in the triple jump during the NCAA Men’s and Women’s Outdoor Track and Field Championships earlier this month.
