If you’ve driven by the Helen Hall library in the past few days, you may have noticed a new art display outside of the building.
As part of League City’s Public Art Initiative, a group of League City residents have decorated the trees around the facility with colorful yarn “tree cuffs.” Some call them tree wraps or cuffs, and others call it “yard bombing.” We just call them wonderful works of art created by League City’s Every Stitch Way Club, a local group of knitting, crocheting and stitching enthusiasts.
The group meets every other Wednesday at the Helen Hall library and they’ve been working for weeks on these colorful tree cuffs. But it doesn’t end here! The group plans to decorate dozens more trees in front of the library and they want the public to participate. If you are interested in joining or donating knit or crochet pieces for the Tree Cuff project, email Rosa.Salcido@leaguecitytx.gov.
