The end of the week is stuffed with sports, with Friday being the main dish. Not only will there be high school football and volleyball, the day and evening will also include tennis, water polo and cross country play. 

Wednesday: The Astros conclude their homestand with a 6:10pm start against the Athletics. AT&T Sportsnet Southwest begins coverage at 5:30pm with the pregame show.

Thursday: No varsity action on the schedule. 

Friday: The high school football schedule has Clear Brook at Deer Park, Pasadena Memorial at Clear Creek (Veterans Memorial), Clear Springs at Huntsville, Klein Oak at Dickinson, Friendswood at Manvel, Houston Sterling at Galveston Ball, and La Marque at St. Pius each starting at 7:00pm. Clear Falls at Houston Heights and state-ranked Hithccock at Houston Wheatley each start at 7:30pm.

In high school volleyball, Clear Lake at Clear Brook gets going at 4:15pm. Texas City at Galveston Ball starts at 5:30pm, followed by Kingwood Park at Clear Creek, Dickinson at Clear Falls, and Clear Springs at Brazoswood at 6:00pm. Friendswood at Dawson, Hitchcock at Van Vleck, La Marque at Stafford and Santa Fe at Angleton each begin at 6:30pm.

High school tennis gets underway at 3:00pm with Clear Brook at Grand Oaks and George Ranch at Clear Springs, followed by Shadow Creek at Clear Creek at 3:15pm.

Northwest Park will be the site of the Bulldog Invitational cross country meet hosted by La Porte. Among the schools competing will be Clear Brook, Clear Creek, Clear Springs, La Marque and Texas City. Clear Falls will be at XC Course on the campus of Texas A&M.

The day also includes water polo with Clear Creek at Clear Falls and Clear Lake at Clear Springs. Girls matches start at 5:30pm, while the boys begin at 6:45pm.

The Astros will spend the weekend in Kansas City as they take on the Royals beginning at 7:10pm. AT&T Sportsnet Southwest will have coverage beginning with the pregame show at 6:30pm.

Saturday: College football dominates the day starting with Lamar at South Dakota (ESPN+) at 1:00pm.  Louisiana Monroe at Texas A&M (SEC Network) beginning at 3:00pm. Prairie View at SMU, Houston Christian at Tennessee-Martin (ESPN+), Stephen F. Austin at Northwestern State (ESPN+) and TSU at Rice (ESPN+) each start at 6:00pm. Wyoming at #4 Texas (Longhorn Network) and TCU at Houston (KRIV26) both start at 7:00pm.

The Astros take on the Royals starting at 6:10pm. AT&T Sportsnet Southwest starts the coverage at 5:30pm with the pregame show.
