I have mentioned this to you before, but years ago one of my sisters called me up one day and said these words,”Brenda, you know that I love you, but you are fat, and so am I.
Now, with that said, I have signed us both up in a weight loss program and have already paid your dues. We will start walking twice a day and together we WILL lose this weight!”
Well, at first I was kind of shocked, and I could have chosen to be offended, but I recognized her heartfelt love for me, so I agreed.
For the first time in my life I lost 28 lbs. in 3 months. Praise God for people who love others more than themselves, and who speak the truth in love.
I didn’t really see myself as being that overweight at 5’4’ and 200 lbs. at the time! I thought I was just pleasantly plump- lol. But looking back I needed help seeing the truth of my situation. I was deceiving myself.
So, with this said, I am not mad at anyone, or against any person but the idea of transgenderism reminds me of a book I read when I was young called “The Emperor’s New Clothes.”
Basically, there was an Emperor who wanted a new wardrobe but no one could make clothes to his liking.
The palace was so intimidated by his position, and temper that they would do anything to appease him.
One day, a man came along and convinced the Emperor that he could fit him with the perfect wardrobe.
For a long time he worked in secret, day and night under lock and key in the palace, and would not permit anyone to see the clothes.
The Emperor was so excited, and very vain, and so happy and hopeful of how he would look in his grand new wardrobe.
So everyone in the palace was enjoying this temporary peace.
The day came when the Emperor went into the room and the man displayed the beautiful clothes he made for the Emperor.
But there were no clothes.
The man pretended that he had created a whole new wardrobe. He even smoothed out the imaginary fabrics, and boasted of the colors. He told him how amazing the Emperor looked and puffed up his pride.
He also pretended to do last minute adjustments here and there, before the great unveiling in front of the entire kingdom.
So, the Emperor, who was so full of pride (self-seeking), allowed himself to be deceived and walked down the grand staircase- completely naked.
The people gasped, he paused and frowned at them, they quickly bowed and told him how wonderful he looked!! How fantastic the clothes were!
They indulged him in his delusion.
They did not love him, they feared to come against what he so deeply believed.
Superficial “love” pacifies and it’s not being tolerant, it is supporting a lie. God’s kind of love also speaks the truth in love.
It’s not “us” against “them”, rather it is mankind against him.
Jesus said,”It is the thief, who comes only to steal, kill and to destroy, I have come that they may have life and life abundant.” John 10:10
I am saying this in love, but there is a demonic influence that has into our society, and it is directly targeting our children, who have a right to know the truth, and need protection.
“God created them male and female.” Gen. 1:27
No mistakes.
Again, we can walk in love without agreement.
Judging someone is to say “you are fat and you are always going to be fat!”
But God’s kind of love says, “You were not created to be fat, but I love you, and understand your heart, and I want to restore you to good health, spirit, soul and body.”
Jesus paid our dues so that we can walk in truth, knowing God’s redeeming love as a good, good Father.
