SO YOU’RE upset about neither the Texans nor Cowboys playing for a Super Bowl bid. Not to worry, though, as Sunday’s chilly weather will also be balanced by a taste of Astros baseball on AT&T Sportsnet Southwest. The start of the new week, highlighted by Martin Luther King Jr. Day ceremonies, will also have a heaping helping of basketball, golf and soccer. SUNDAY: Grieving Texans and Cowboys fans disinterested in watching the AFC and NFC championship games can turn their attention toward AT&T Sportsnet Southwest, which will have replays of three Astros games from the 2018 season. Houston’s June 27 win over Toronto opens the day at noon, followed by a July 10 victory over the Athletics, while the August 6 game against the Giants caps off the day at 8:30pm. MONDAY: Martin Luther King Jr. Day will have Dickinson at Texas City in girls’ soccer at 7:30pm. The day will also see the start of the spring golf season, with the boys of Clear Brook, Clear Creek, Clear Falls and Santa Fe among the teams participating at Bay Oaks Country Club in a two-day meet hosted by Clear Springs. There will also be girls’ golf, as Clear Brook, host Clear Creek, Clear Falls, Clear Springs and Santa Fe will be at Galveston Country Club for two days of action. The Rockets will be on the road as they visit the 76ers in a nationally televised game on TNT beginning at 7:00pm. It will be the first meeting of the season between the two, as Philadelphia will visit Houston on March 8. TUESDAY: The boys’ basketball schedule starts with Alvin at Clear Creek, Dickinson at Clear Falls, Clear Brook at Clear Springs, Santa Fe at Crosby, Friendswood at Texas City and Galveston Ball at Santa Fe each tipping off at 7:00pm. State-ranked La Marque visits Bay City and Boling at Hitchcock will begin at 7:30pm. In girls’ basketball, Boling at Hitchcock starts at 6:15pm, followed by Santa Fe at Galveston Ball and Bay City at La Marque beginning at 6:30pm. Clear Creek at Alvin, Clear Springs at Clear Brook, Clear Falls at Dickinson and Texas City at Santa Fe starts at 7:00pm. The boys’ soccer schedule starts with Clear Brook at Baytown Lee, Friendswood at Clear Lake (played at Challenger-Columbia Stadium), Stafford at Santa Fe each begins at 7:00pm, while North Shore at Clear Creek, Katy at Clear Springs, Texas City at Dickinson and Clear Falls at Pearland are matches that will start at 7:30pm. Only two matches are on the girls’ soccer slate, as both Clear Creek at Alief Elsik and Clear Springs at Friendswood begin at 7:30pm
