Friendswood Youth Baseball is holding tryouts for the 2019 schedule. Pony
13/14U will be held Saturday from 9:00am to 2:00pm. Tryouts for Shetland 5U

Galveston’s Island Little League is continuing its registration for the 2019
spring season, with the next two sessions being held on Thursday from 3:30pm
to 7:00pm and Saturday from 9:00am to 1:00pm. Registration will be held at

The La Marque Little League is in need of equipment following a theft at
Bobby Beach last month. Among the equipment stolen were a JUGS MVP
pitching machine, a bag full of bats and additional equipment, balls, T-shirts, a
PA system, speakers and a chainsaw. Those willing to support the league in its
effort to begin the season on time can visit the league’s site at lmwtcll.org.
League City Little League will hold its tryouts on Saturday, with the American
League holding tryouts in the morning and the National League holding tryouts

Texas City Little League will hold its tryouts this weekend, beginning with
the junior division on Friday at 7:00pm at the Junior Field. Pw2 tryouts will be
from 9:00am to 11:00am on Saturday, followed by minor league tryouts from
11:00am to 1:00pm and major league tryouts from 1:00pm to 2:00pm. Each of
the league’s tryouts will be held on the major league field. There will be make-up

Soccer
Texas City High School will hold its Junior Soccer Camp from 9:00am to
12:00pm on February 16 and is open to all kids from first thru sixth grade. Cost
will be $25 per camper. The camp will be run by the TCHS and Blocker Middle
School coaches along with soccer players from the Texas City boys’ and girls’

Softball
Dickinson Girls’ Softball League is holding registration for the 2019 season
through January 31. Registration fees are $130 (including name on the back,
insurance, umpire fees, trophy and field maintenance). There will also be a field
workday/player evaluations on January 26, with 8U at 1:30pm, 10U at 2:00pm,
12U at 2:30pm and 14U at 3:00pm. Girls not in attendance will be assigned to a
team via blind draft. Girls returning to their prior coach and team from the 2018

Dickinson Girls’ Softball League is offering Beginners Pitching Lessons, where
hurlers will learn how to pitch safely and effectively with the Tincher method from
