Houston pro sports lovefest highlights weekend
THERE IS A HOST of high school baseball and softball playoff games on the docket, as six area
baseball teams and four area softball teams will continue their bids toward a state title berth.
Look below for a complete schedule for those games.
Outside of high school postseason play, the first weekend of May will be capped by a triple-
header of Houston sports, capped off by Game 3 of the Western Conference semifinals that will
see Houston return to town with either a 1-1 tie or attempting to climb out of an 0-2 hole.
Wednesday: The Astros go with Collin McHugh (3-2, 4.78 ERA) in the third game at the Twins,
who will give the ball to Martin Perez (3-0, 4.44 ERA). The 7:00pm start will be televised
nationally on ESPN, while AT&T Sportsnet Southwest will start coverage with its pregame show
at 6:30pm.

Peacock (2-1, 3.67 ERA) against Twins hurler Jose Berrios (4-1, 2.97 ERA). The game starts at

rare Friday off. Local sports fans might want to get used to this type of silence, as it will become
the norm until early August.

Game 2 on Tuesday night. ABC-13 will air the game live at 7:30pm.
The Dynamo will offer a rare Houston trifecta when they host rival FC Dallas at BBVA Compass
Stadium beginning at 3:00pm. Univision will air the contest live, while ESPN+ will also have the
