Fatality Accident
TEXAS CITY, TX On May 9, 2019 at 7:23 PM Texas City Police and Fire responded to a major accident involving a vehicle and motorcycle at State Highway 3 and Mentor Drive. When police and fire arrived on scene they located a 36 year old male, later determined to be the rider of the motorcycle in the grass on the east side of Highway 3 deceased. Two of the three occupants of the vehicle involved were pinned inside and had to be extracted by the Texas City Fire Department. A 40 year old female extracted from the vehicle was transported to Mainland Medical Center where she was pronounced dead upon arrival. A male extracted from the vehicle was transported by ambulance to UTMB Galveston in critical condition. A male juvenile was able to exit the vehicle and was treated at the scene for minor injuries.
The vehicle was believed to be traveling east on Mentor Drive and was crossing State Highway 3 and collided with the motorcycle traveling northbound on State Highway 3. The investigation is ongoing.
