The outbreak of COVID-19 has stopped the sports world, including area high school sporting events. Schools will remain closed through March 22, which also means sporting events will be placed on hold.
With colleges and professional sports on hold, On the Field is, well, off the field indefinitely. Our hopes and prayers are that we can regain some sense of normality in the near future, yet we are aware this state of life may be here with us for some time.
For now, we will continue to update on our Facebook page. We hope the Dickinson boys’ basketball will get its chance to play for a state title they have worked years for along with hoping we can see how far our area high school soccer teams can go if/when the state playoffs arrive.
There are things bigger than sports, and we have reached a moment where life and the well-being of everyone outweighs the wins and losses. To each of our area athletes, we wish you the best in this time. We will miss highlighting your exploits and announcing your college plans. We will be here when you come back.
