TO NO SURPRISE, THE LA MARQUE boys’ basketball team dominated the District 24-4A awards following a season that saw them win 32 games and earn a trip to the Region III quarterfinals.

It was also no surprise that Jordan Ivy-Curry was named the district’s most valuable player. The Texas-San Antonio commit ranked among the top scorers in the nation while helping guide the Cougars to a perfect 8-0 mark in district play. Edward Robinson was selected as co-defensive player of the year, while Kevin Boone was chosen as the 24-4A newcomer of the year. Kevin Wilcox received coach of the year honors.

Ivy-Curry, Robinson and Boone were each first team all-district. Deshawn Murphy and Terrance Cooper received second team honors while Brandon Jones, Keelan Norris, Jauron Reid Jr,  and Roy Robinson earned honorable mention nods.

The duo of Ivy-Curry and Robinson also received accolades from the Texas Association of Basketball Coaches, who named both to their all-regional teams. Ivy-Curry received all-state honors.
