Former La Marque High School running back Perry Preston passed away suddenly on Sunday at the age of 20. Preston, who also participated in boys’ basketball and track, was a four-year starter for the Cougars and was named District 12-3A, Division I Offensive Player of the year in 2016. He was a member of Texas A&T’s initial junior college football team in 2019.
