A new coach and quarterback lead the Texans into a new and longer (there’s 17 games on the regular season slate) season as they look to avoid the visiting Jaguars and their brand new QB from starting the 2021 campaign with a loss. Meanwhile, Tuesday’s volleyball schedule will have 10 of the 11 area teams in action.
Sunday: The Texans begin their 2021 regular season as they host the Jaguars, who will be led by the first overall pick of the NFL Draft, Clemson quarterback Trevor Lawrence. The game will be aired live on KHOU (CBS 11) beginning at 12:00pm
Just a few miles north of NRG Stadium, the Astros will close out their series against the Angels beginning at 1:10pm. AT&T Sportsnet Southwest will air the game live, with the pregame show starting at 12:30pm.
Monday: The Astros begin their final series against the Rangers for the 2021 season beginning at 7:05pm. Both AT&T Sportsnet Southwest (Astros) and Fox Sports Southwest (Rangers) will start at 6:30pm.
Tuesday: High school volleyball gets underway with Clear Brook at Clear Falls, Dickinson at Clear Creek, Clear Springs at Clear Lake, and Hitchcock at East Bernard all starting at 6:00pm.
Friendswood at Baytown Lee, Galveston Ball at Santa Fe, and Sweeny at La Marque each have their matches going at 6:30pm.
In high school tennis, Clear Brook hosts Clear Creek at 3:00pm, while Texas City meets host Galveston Ball at 4:00pm.
