
Daylight Savings Time means more time for sports, and the week opens with local fans being able to take advantage of the extra hour. Monday is filled with a host of afternoon baseball and softball games, while both Monday and Tuesday will see the final matches of the high school soccer regular season come to a conclusion.
Sunday: The Rockets visit the Pelicans for a 6:00pm tip. AT&T Sportsnet Southwest begins coverage with the pregame show at 5:30pm.
Monday: The weather will be good to sneak out and enjoy high school baseball, as Clear Brook at Clear Lake, Clear Creek at Brazoswood and Clear Falls at Dickinson each get underway at 1:00pm. Bay City travels to La Marque for a 6:00pm start.
If high school softball is to your fancy, the schedule will have Clear Brook at Brazoswood at 12:00pm, followed by Santa Fe at Galveston Ball at 1:00pm. La Marque visits Brazosport at 2:00pm, with Clear Springs at Clear Creek and Clear Lake at Clear Falls going under the lights at 6:30pm.
The day also has high school soccer, with Clear Springs at Clear Brook, Clear Falls at Brazoswood, and Dickinson at Clear Lake on the boys’ docket. For the girls, Clear Brook at Clear Springs, Brazoswood at Clear Falls, and Dickinson at Clear Lake are for the offing. Each of the matches start at 7:30pm.
Tuesday: Spring break continues with a high school baseball schedule that has Galveston Ball at Manvel starting at 1:00pm. La Porte at Friendswood and Texas City at Baytown Sterling each start at 6:00pm.
The high school softball slate has Hitchcock at Brazos at 5:00pm. Baytown Lee at Friendswood had not announced its start time as of Friday.
High school boys’ soccer will have Friendswood at Santa Fe and Goose Creek Memorial at Galveston Ball each starting at 7:30pm. The girls’ slate has Santa Fe at Friendswood and Galveston Ball at Goose Creek Memorial at 7:30pm.
