Lagoonfest Texas will be action-packed Monday, July 4, with a wave of circus acts who have performed around the world and tribute band concerts during the Fourth of July Freedom Fest.
Keren Maceira and the Dominguez family will give its Summer Thrill performance at 1:00pm and 5:00pm showcasing acrobatic feats and skills that include a crossbow, motorcycle and even fire. Aerial and Rola Bola balance board tricks are also planned, as are motorcycles spinning inside a wire globe.
A mini circus with a mix of aerialist, Cyr wheel and hand balancing performances will happen at 11:00am and 3:00pm. A clown will be there to entertain children.
“These are amazing performers from around the world,” said Uri Man, Chief Executive Officer of The Lagoon Development Company. “We were lucky to get them. They leave here to return to Los Angeles for shows there but you can see them here — for free — with admission to Lagoonfest Texas.”
The Summer Thrill event will be at Lagoonfest Texas through July 11 while the mini circus continues performances through Aug. 14.
The Freedom Fest concerts begin at 4:00pm and continue until 8:00pm. Group Mötley Krüe has traveled throughout Texas singing the hits of heavy metal band Mötley Crüe, which has sold more than 100 million albums worldwide.
Glamming up the Lagoonfest Texas concert stage will be Poison I.V., a tribute band for the metal group Poison, which has a string of top hits, including “Every Rose Has Its Thorn.” Jimmy Page, Robert Plant and the rest of English rock group Led Zeppelin will be reimagined by the band Von Hindenburg.
Hosting the Fourth of July Freedom Fest concerts are Rock Rage Radio and Houston Eagle’s Harley Roxx.
“With the circus performances and concerts, it will definitely be a high-energy Fourth of July here at Lagoonfest Texas,” said Richard Coleman, CEO of American Resort Management, the venue’s operating company. “Add in the beautiful clear water, white sand beaches, all of the activities, and it’s a Fourth of July you won’t soon forget.”
Admission to the circus shows and concerts is free with an admission ticket to Lagoonfest Texas. Individual ticket prices start at $22.
In addition to enjoying entertainment, guests can play on the largest inflatable obstacle course in the nation located on a crystal lagoon and cruise the lagoon via bumper boats, kayaks, sailboats, stand-up paddleboards and aqua trikes. Adding to the fun are a five-story Titan Slide and a game lawn with corn hole, a giant Jenga, Spider Pong and Banzai Ball. Food and alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages are available.
