For the last seven years Bobby Hocking has dedicated his energy to growing and improving the quality of life for the residents of La Marque,
Texas. He balanced the budget while increasing the pay scale for City employees who had not seen a raise in over a decade. He brought in Sam’s Club which feeds the tax base significantly and moved the city to water meters that have the latest technology available, saving thousands of pounds of water each year. Currently he is working on updating the rest of the water and sewer system.  The remarkable thing about all the improvements La Marque has been able to complete is that they were achieved without raising taxes. In fact, La Marque is enjoying a surplus due to excellent city management and Mayor Hocking is quick to point out that these successes come from having a strong team that works together for the good of the city.  La Marque is a city that knows how to party and Mayor Hocking is right there “amongst ‘em”. Every year the Bayou Fest brings in over 20,000 people to La Marque. And there is always a reason to have a parade, so when they were looking for a way to celebrate the new Fire Station and Administration Building, that was plenty reason enough! “I love a parade,” said La Marque Mayor Bobby Hocking. “I especially love one celebrating a monumental occasion such as the completion of the very first public safety facility to be built in our great and growing city. I hope all the citizens of La Marque and our surrounding communities come out
to celebrate with us.” And La Marque’s Crawfish Bash is actually recorded in the Guinness Book of World Records.  Aside from all the celebrating, eating and parades, Mayor Hocking is quite busy overseeing an extensive revitalization of downtown La Marque which will continue to attract new business and increase property values city wide. “ I love La Marque.  I love being the very best Mayor I can be for my city. I look forward to serving my community and the people who make La Marque the unique and very special place it is.”  Mayor Hocking is asking each of La Marque’s voting residents to take the time to vote on May 5th.
