A signed rattan chair and ottoman by Henry Olko dated 1979 and manufactured by Willow and Reed. In very good vintage condition with only slight wear and scuffs. Seat, 17″H; arm, 26.5″H. Ottoman: 27″L x 23″W x 17″H. 40″ L x 36″ W x 30″ H Henry Olko is a Polish Engineer who also designed furniture for his company Willow & Reed. Extremely popular in the early 50’s and on through the 70’s much of his work is now considered art and sells for tens of thousands of dollars. This particular piece found its way to the Rainwater Trading Company. The two pieces together are listed at $1500 and other than a few scratches and some dust, are in excellent condition. If you are interested in designer vintage, this set is quite remarkable and definitely priced to sell. Next time you go antiquing or if you just happen to be strolling around down on 6th Street, be sure to stop in and have a seat on a little bit of history.
