LACK OF KNOWLEDGE

Proverbs 10:21 The lips of the righteous feed many, but fools die for lack of sense. Israelites destroyed for lack of knowledge. Blindly following their wayward teachers and prophets led them astray to worshiping false gods, to murder, stealing, adultery, fornication, and other sins. People today are led by similar wayward teachers, be it gang members, occult believers, personal beliefs and religions. This is why we have so much killing, rapes, stealing, sickness and diseases. This lack of self-will which lead to danger! Lack of knowledge causes bad marriages, the failure to keep jobs, uncontrollable anger and many other sins that tear away at the soul. Hosea 4:1-2: “Hear the word of the LORD, ye children of Israel: for the LORD hath a controversy with the inhabitants of the land, because there is no truth, nor mercy, nor knowledge of God in the land. My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shall be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children.” It profitable to study the Holy Bible? God moan the children of Israel in the times of Hosea, for their lack of knowledge. He told them that He would destroy them for it. Each person has a responsibility before God to study for themselves and to understand what God expects of them. Jesus told the Pharisees to study the scriptures. John 5:38: “And you have not his word abiding in you: for whom he hath sent, him you believe not.” Many profess to serve God, but in reality, they do not. If we do not have the word of God in us, we will not follow His commandments. Look what happened to the Israelites in Hosea 4. The lack of knowledge led them to commit all kinds of sins. Sins such as killing, stealing, and committing adultery. They were prone to lying; we take it lightly in our day, as they did in theirs. There was no truth and no mercy. Today, truth is denounced, ridiculed, suppressed, savaged, and denied. Too many profess Christianity who have not mercy that our Lord showed during His life on earth. Many have no mercy toward fellow Christians, let alone having mercy for those who are not Christians. Matthew 5:7: “Blessed are the merciful: for they shall obtain mercy.” Matthew 9:13: “But go ye and learn what that meanest, I will have mercy, and not sacrifice: for I am not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.” Why do so many professed Christians cheerful ignore the message? Many look down their noses at non-Christians. The merciful obtain mercy, He also said. James 2:14: “What doth it profit, my brethren, though a man say he hath faith, and have not works? Can faith save him? The Lord’s people in our time, as of old, are being destroyed for lack of knowledge!” Luke 11:52: “Woe unto you, lawyers! For you have taken away the key of knowledge: you entered not in yourselves, and them that were entering in you hindered. Those who do not study the will of God hate those who study and teach it. 2 Timothy 3:15: “And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus. 16: All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: Paul advised Timothy to continue to study, even though he had been taught the scriptures since childhood. Knowledge of scripture is profitable. Colossians 1:9: “For this cause we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray for you, and to desire that you might be filled with the knowledge of his will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding; 10: “That ye might walk worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing, being fruitful in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God; Brothers and sisters let us not be destroyed for lack of knowledge.
