EIGHT AREA GIRLS’ HIGH SCHOOL basketball teams will be in action on Monday and Tuesday as the bi-district round of the state tournament begins. Each squad will have aspirations to find themselves in San Antonio for the state’s Final Four, which will run from March 5-7.

Clear Springs vs. Alief Taylor, 6A, Region III, Dawson High School, 6:00pm.
Dickinson vs. Pearland, 6A, Region III, Friendswood High School, 6:00pm.
Texas City vs. Barbers Hill, 5A, Region III, Manvel High School, 6:00pm
Tuesday
Friendswood vs. Nederland, 5A, Region III, Baytown Lee College, 6:00pm
La Marque vs. Houston Washington, 4A, Region III, HISD Barnett Field House, 7:30pm.
Three other schools went into Friday awaiting the outcome of play-in games from other districts. Clear Creek and Clear Falls each had their bi-district matchups hinging on Friday’s 23-6A play-in between George Ranch and Dawson, with the winner playing Clear Creek and the loser taking on Clear Falls. Hitchcock awaited the winner of Friday’s game between New Waverly and Trinity to determine who the state-ranked Bulldogs would face in the opening round.
