F.W. Walton Dwayne Pulley Memorial Scholarship
2020 Application
This scholarship was created in memory of Dwayne Lee Pulley of Texas City. Dwayne was a graduate of Texas City High School and worked for F.W. Walton, Inc. for over 30-years. He took pride in his construction knowledge and ability and his work always demonstrated top quality performance. Dwayne was known in the community for his generosity, friendship, and dedication to his loved ones, and put others before himself. He had a great impact on more people than he could ever have imagined. In establishing this scholarship, we wish to recognize a Texas City High School graduating senior who plans to pursue a career in the industrial or construction field and has shown dedication to continued education and community service.
Applicants to the Dwayne Pulley Memorial Scholarship Fund must:
- Be a 2020 graduating senior from Texas City High School.
- Have a GPA of 2.5 or higher.
- Provide at least two letters of recommendation from a counselor or teacher.
- Nominees must be accepted into an accredited two (2) or four (4) year college/university or a recognized trade school. A minimum of twelve (12) hours during the fall or spring semester is required to qualify for this award. Payment will be made directly to the college/university upon receiving copies of registration receipts and must be submitted to F.W. Walton Scholarship committee for payment. The scholarship must be utilized within 12 months following high school graduation. Should a recipient fail to utilize the awarded amount within 12 months of graduation, the unused amount will revert back to the F.W. Walton Scholarship fund.
- Scholarship will be given to applicants majoring in a field directly related to the industrial trade or construction industry or other closely related field.
- A copy of your high school transcript showing grades and GPA through the Fall semester must accompany the application.
- The applications are due at Noon, May 1, 2020. Applications and supporting documents must be submitted via email to marketing@waltonroofing.com or mailed to FW Walton Scholarship Fund , 8350 Mosley Road, Houston, TX 77075.
