Members of the La Marque Citizens’ Academy spent their third week learning about the Police Department’s community policing, patrol procedures and the tasks of the department’s Special Response Team (SRT). Students also had the opportunity to meet and visit with several LMPD officers as well as getting to see and handle some of the equipment utilized by SRT members. For the upcoming week, the students will get to go on a ride-along with an LMPD officer.
