Former Dickinson High School star athlete Charles O. (Chuck) Mills passed away on Saturday at the age of 71. Mills was a two-time all-district football player for the Gators in both 1964 and 1965 and starred at Tyler Junior College before transferring to UNT, where he helped the Mean Green to a 15-5 in 1968 and 1969.Mills won 84 games as high school football coach and was the defensive coordinator for UNT’s 1983 Southland Conference championship team. He is survived by his wife, Anita and their two children, Stacy and Jason.
