The University Interscholastic League officially announced it would allow live telecasts of high school football games beginning on September 25. The one-year easing of the broadcast rules is due in part to reduce social distancing. Live broadcasts of Texas high school football games has long been a tightly-guarded tenet of the UIL, which finally relented as COVID-19 cases continue to threaten the sport.
