$25,000 from the Valero Benefit for Children
McRee Ford donated $6,000

The Dickinson ISD Education Foundation is excited about two recent donations which will be used to support programs in Dickinson ISD schools.

The Dickinson IED Education Foundation received an unexpected charitable grant of $25,000 from the Valero Benefit for Children this year, despite the cancellation of the Valero Texas Open golf tournament and associated events. “This year more than ever we are grateful to receive funds from the Valero Benefit for Children and be a charity partner. These funds will help cover the costs for our Gator Wellness Center, which helps address the mental health needs of many Dickinson ISD students,” said Amanda Flannery, Education Foundation Director.

Due to the incredible generosity of Valero’s business partners, donors and sponsors, more than $14 million in net proceeds from the Valero Texas Open will be distributed to agencies across the United States, fueling the work of hundreds of charity partners like the Dickinson ISD Education Foundation  when the need has never been greater.

McRee Ford donated $6,000 earlier this week to the Education Foundation from the Virtual Drive 1 For Your School event held in October. A special thanks to everyone that supported this event, which was transitioned to an online event due to COVID-19 precautions. These funds will be used to fund innovative teaching grants to teachers in Dickinson ISD.
