Friendswood Girls Clinch 4th Place at State Swimming Finals

The Friendswood High School Mustangs Swim and Dive team competed at the 5-A State meet, on February 27 (Boys) and March 2 (Girls). The State meet was held at the Bill Walker Pool and Josh Davis Natatorium in San Antonio. There were over 60 High Schools competing at State. Friendswood ISD Girls placed 4th and the Friendswood Boys’ with a solid performance placed 24th in the overall standings.

Proudly representing Friendswood were eight swimmers coached by Head Coach Craig Sikkema and Varsity Assistant Monica Whitsett.

Peyton Becker – B-Finals 100 Breastroke and Relay(s)

Leah Givens – A/B Finals 200 Free/100 Free and Relay(s)

Abigail Nelson – B-Finals 100 Backstroke and Relay(s)

Lezli Sisung – A-Finals 100 Fly /100 Backstroke and Relay(s)

Congrats to Lezli Sisung who medaled in 3rd place in the 100 Backstroke with a time of 56.03. Sisung is a Senior and has signed a letter of intent to swim for the University of Kansas.
