Bolivar: GOOD. 72 Degrees. Speckled trout and redfish can be found in the shallow reefs and shorelines and are best on shrimp or cut mullet. Black drum are good around vegetation or structure on crab or shrimp. Flounder are good around the rocks on shrimp.

Trinity Bay: GOOD. 72 degrees. Wading has been the best method for success. Speckled trout are found over scattered shell and mud on small topwaters or shrimp. Redfish are good on shrimp along the shoreline. Black drum are good on crab or shrimp in the deeper water.

East Galveston Bay: GOOD. 71 degrees. The time is here to catch trophy speckled trout along the shoreline on shrimp. Black drum are good near San Luis Pass on shrimp or crab. Redfish are in the back lakes and over areas with sand and shell bottom and are good on soft plastics.

West Galveston Bay: GOOD. 71 degrees. Speckled Trout and Redfish are good in the flats over shell-on shrimp or soft plastics. Throw topwaters where the mullet are when wade fishing. San Luis Pass remains to be a good spot. Black drum bites when using shrimp or crab around structure or vegetation.

Texas City: GOOD. 71 degrees. Speckled trout and redfish are good working the drop-offs on shrimp around the dike. Black  drum are good on shrimp around the dike and around vegetation or structure.

Freeport: GOOD. 70 degrees. Redfish can be found along the back lakes and marshes and is best on shrimp under a popping cork or mullet, some flounder may be mixed in. Speckled trout are good near the ICW on live bait close to the rocks. The bait species should be moving in soon, which will lead to a more aggressive bite. Black drum are good on shrimp around structure. Sheepshead are good on live shrimp around the reefs or jetties.

East Matagorda Bay: GOOD. 72 degrees. The grass is starting to come back and should be abundant into May. Speckled trout and Black drum have been caught using live shrimp or cut mullet in the backwater areas. Drifting has produced good speckled trout. Catch and release is encouraged for the time being.

West Matagorda Bay: FAIR TO GOOD. 72 degrees. Wading and drifting have produced good results. Redfish and black drum can be found over the rocks on live shrimp under a popping cork, live shrimp, or cut mullet. Speckled trout will be chasing mullet and are best on live shrimp. Catch and release is encouraged.

Port O’Connor: GOOD. 69 degrees. Speckled trout and Redfish are good around the pass on sand flats or around the main bay reefs. Throw topwaters early in the morning or soft plastics. Black drum are good on shrimp. Flounder are good around the rocks on shrimp.

Rockport: GOOD. 72 degrees. Speckled trout and redfish are on shrimp and will be near the grassy shorelines, reefs or around the mid-bay reefs. Black drum are good on shrimp and can be found in the channels or around structure.

Port Aransas: GOOD. 72 degrees. Speckled trout and redfish are in the shallows or out in the channels or around the jetties and are good on soft plastics or topwaters. Black drum is good on shrimp or crab around vegetation or structure.
