Honoring our service members is something very near and dear to the heart of Marilyn Harris a resident of Galveston. She wanted a painting to honor all military branches and so she rounded up the funds and brought on artist Marc Wyatt. He designed her vision of the “Warrior’s Walkway” on a sidewalk near the intersection of 21st and Post Office in Galveston.
“The painting is a reminder that people served this country to be able to provide freedom, liberty and justice for all,” said Wyatt.
Wyatt served in the United States Coast Guard and has since developed his name as an artist and contractor in Galveston County. “I like putting my mark on something, it’s kind of a part of my heart and soul” said Wyatt.
Wyatt wasn’t alone, he had a helping hand in the painting from former Marine, Mark Metzger.
