(Texas City, Texas –) Lagoonfest Texas is adding to the visitor experience by introducing floating cabanas to its list of features.

These “aquabanas” are linked together, creating a pool at their center that will be exclusive to those renting the floating cabanas. Regular cabanas seat six while the larger cabanas can accommodate 12 guests.

“We are pioneering bringing unique experiences to Texas,” said Uri Man, Chief Executive Officer of The Lagoon Development Company. “These floating cabanas are a game-changer. We are proud to bring unique, memorable experiences to our patrons.”

The aquabanas are accessible via Paradise Shore, the lagoon’s VIP beach.

Man said these are the first floating cabanas to be featured on a Crystal Lagoons® amenity in Texas.

At 12 acres, the Lago Mar lagoon is the state’s largest, and it offers the most shoreline of any lagoon in the nation. It holds 24 million gallons of water and the lagoon’s liner system is large enough to cover the entire Houston Galleria mall or 14 NFL football fields. The lagoon surface is equivalent to an approximate 1,350 home swimming pools.

Located at 3240 Lago Mar Boulevard in Texas City, Lagoonfest Texas is open 10:00am to 7:00pm Thursdays through Sundays through September 5. It is also open on Labor Day, September 6. After Labor Day, the venue will be open 11:00am to sunset Saturdays and Sundays through September, unless an evening concert is planned. Ticket prices start at $20 for adults and $15 for children. Children age 2 and under get in free.

Guests can rent kayaks, sailboats, stand-up paddleboards and bumper boats, as well as test their skill on the floating obstacle course and race down the 185-foot Titan slide. Food and a full bar are also available.

COVID-19 guidelines will be enforced, including no cash transactions, frequent cleaning and enhanced sanitation of high-traffic areas and the recommendation to wear masks for entry, exit and in all common areas.
