Soccer Playoff Picture to Be Completed

The weather continues to be delightful for Spring Break, and the appeal of daytime high school baseball and softball is enough to make one think about cutting work and grabbing a hot dog while soaking up the sun. The weekend also provides the final high school soccer matches along with two high schools taking part in one of the nation’s premier track and field events.

Wednesday: The continuation of Spring Break gives us high school softball with Van Vleck at Hitchcock beginning at 10:00am, followed by Friendswood at Manvel at 1:00pm.

One high school baseball game is on the slate with La Marque at Stafford at 6:00pm.

Clear Falls track and field team will host the Knights Relays.

The Rockets host the defending Western Conference champion Suns at 7:00pm. AT&T Sportsnet Southwest begins coverage at 6:30pm with the pregame show.

Thursday: The one game of the schedule is Galveston Ball at Texas City in a softball contest that starts at 1:00pm.

Friday: A busy high school baseball schedule starts with Clear Brook at Clear Falls, Dickinson at Clear Creek, and Clear Lake at Clear Springs at 1:00pm, followed by Baytown Sterling at Galveston Ball at 4:00pm. 

The final high school boys’ soccer regular season matches will see Texas City at Friendswood, Galveston Ball at La Porte and Baytown Lee at Santa Fe starting at 7:30. The last girls’ soccer matches will have Friendswood at Texas City, Galveston Ball at La Porte and Santa Fe at Baytown Lee, also at 7:30pm.

Clear Brook’s girls’ and the Dickinson boys’ and girls’ track teams will in Houston to compete at the regular season’s most prestigious event, the TSU Relays held on the campus of Texas Southern University. The Knights and Gators will get a sample of what to expect in May’s state finals when they collide with some of the state’s prep elite in track and field.

The Pacers make their only appearance at Toyota Center when they face the Rockets in a contest of two lottery-bound teams. AT&T Sportsnet Southwest will have coverage at 6:30pm with the pregame show, followed by the game at 7:00pm.

Saturday: Clear Brook’s boys’ soccer team welcomes Goose Creek Memorial in a playoff tune-up at 4:00pm.
