The second Monday in February means the start of the softball regular season. Nine area teams will be on the field, with Santa Fe at Clear Falls and Texas City at Clear Creek the featured matchups.
Sunday: They’re playing something called the Super Bowl at 5:30 PM. Plenty of people will stuff themselves with food and drink while wishing Monday was an off day. Enjoy.
Monday: Softball begins in full swing with La Marque at Brazosport at 5 PM. Dobie at Clear Brook, and Santa Fe at Clear Falls begin at 6 PM, followed by Clear Springs at Montgomery, Friendswood at Jersey Village, and Texas City at Clear Creek at 6:30 PM. Pasadena Memorial at Ball begins at 6:45 PM.
Boys’ soccer has Ball at Santa Fe at noon, while Texas City at Angleton begins at 7:30 PM.
The girls’ soccer schedule has Santa Fe at Ball and Iowa Colony at Friendswood at 7:30 PM.
Tuesday: The final girls’ basketball regular season games begin at 5 PM with Hitchcock at Boling and Texas City at Angleton, followed by Sweeny at La Marque at 5:30 PM. Ball at Santa Fe, Brazoswood at Clear Brook, Clear Springs at Clear Creek, Clear Lake at Clear Falls, and Dickinson at Deer Park begin at 7 PM. Friendswood at Iowa Colony begin at 7:15 PM.
On the boys’ basketball slate, Hitchcock at Boling starts at 6:15 PM. Santa Fe at Ball, Clear Brook at Brazoswood, Clear Creek at Clear Springs, Clear Falls at Clear Lake, Deer Park at state-ranked Dickinson, Iowa Colony at state-ranked Friendswood, and state-ranked La Marque at Sweeny begin at 7 PM.
