TODAY, SUNDAY: Houston’s slim playoff hopes are on the line when the Texans visit
the Jaguars at noon. Jacksonville, which leads the AFC South, handed Houston a
29-7 loss at NRG Stadium in the season opener and sports a 9-4 record. The Texans
(4-9) would have to win out and would need a considerable amount of help to make
a postseason bid. T.J. Yates gets the start at quarterback for Houston after Tom Savage
sustained a concussion on a brutal hit in last week’s loss to the 49ers. KHOU-11
will have the game live.
TOMORROW, MONDAY: There is no high school athletics on the schedule today as
most schools are taking fall final exams. However, the Rockets will be able to keep
the basketball fires burning when they continue their homestand with a 7:00pm visit
from the Jazz. Houston has won each of the first two meetings, a 137-110 rout at
Toyota Center on November 5 and a 112-101 victory in Salt Lake City on December 7.
AT&T Sportsnet will have the game live when they begin the pregame show starting
at 6:30pm.
