The Nick Gary Foundation (TNGF), a non-profit organization formed in 2016 to encourage academic excellence and build future leaders, is pleased to announce its 2017 – 2018 scholarship recipients. A “Meet and Greet” hosted June 6, 2018, presented 8 scholarship recipients and their families to the Gary family, friends, and Board of Directors.
Recipients shared their educational paths, passions, and career goals and objectives; TNGF is in awe of this year’s recipients as they are unique students with great promise! Recipients of the 2nd Annual Nick Gary Scholarship are Amanda Lu, Clear Brook High School; Carrington Julian, Clear Creek High School; Dedrick Johnson, Texas City High School; Jeb Olivier, Clear Falls High School; Kerriona Filer, La Marque High School; Madison Guillory, Clear Springs High School; Matthew Quintana, Texas City High School; and Stephanie Amaro, College of the Mainland P-Tech Program. Each student will receive a $1,000 scholarship. Nick’s transition on January 24, 2016, left family and friends with both fond memories and an unwavering commitment to keep his name relevant and his rich legacy alive. Recognized for his keen intelligence, his passion and knowledge of all sports, and his genuine willingness to help others made Nick unique. Whether it was teaching and tutoring in College of the Mainland’s Process Technology classes, or helping those in financial need, Nick was always eager to help others.
