YES, THERE WILL still be Thanksgiving leftovers as the holiday weekend concludes

and life gets back to normal on Monday. That’s a good thing since those

leftovers will come in handy to watch the Texans host the Titans on Monday

night football. It’s also good news for high school soccer players, who will start

their first day of after-school practices along with high school basketball players

who get back into the swing of things as well.

SUNDAY:  With the Cowboys having played on Thursday and the Texans playing

on Monday, the local sports day is almost quiet, with the only game being

Rice at Wichita State in men’s college basketball starting at 2:00pm. The Rice

women’s basketball team is at home when Southland Conference powerhouse

McNeese State visits Tudor Fieldhouse at 2:00pm.

MONDAY:  A pair of girls’ basketball games is on the schedule, as Hitchcock at

Galveston Ball starts at 6:00pm and Texas City at Clear Brook begins at 7:00pm.

The day is also the first day where high schools can begin after-school practices

for soccer. The 2019 regular season will kick off in early January, with the state

championship being held in early April.

Is there an eighth straight win for the Texans? A national audience will find out

when Houston hosts Tennessee for Monday Night Football starting at 7:15pm.

The Texans can put a stronger grip on the AFC South title race against a Titans

team that comes off a 38-10 loss to the Colts in Week 11. Tennessee won the

first meeting this season when they held on to a 20-17 home win in Week 2 and

will look for the sweep on ESPN.

TUESDAY:  The busy evening of boys’ basketball starts with Pasadena Dobie at

Clear Brook, South Houston at Clear Falls, Santa Fe at Kingwood Park, Cleveland

at state-ranked La Marque and Rosenberg Terry at Texas City beginning at

7:00pm. Friendswood at Clear Springs will start at 7:30pm.

On the girls’ side of the hoops bracket, Galveston Ball at Clear Falls starts at

5:30pm, followed by Baytown Lee at La Marque at 6:00pm. Wharton at Santa

Fe tips off at 6:30pm, with Goose Creek Memorial at Clear Creek and Fort Bend

Bush at Dickinson both starting at 7:00pm.
