THE BUFFALO BILLS SIGNED La Marque alum Brian Allen last week, adding depth to a secondary that has been banged up throughout most of training camp.
A fifth-round pick of the Steelers in the 2017 NFL Draft, Allen has appeared in 16 games, appearing mostly on special teams. He spent most of the 2019 season on the practice squad of the Seahawks. At 6’3, 204 pounds, Allen’s size and athleticism are his biggest attributes for a Bills secondary that lost rookie Ike Brown to retirement last week while starting cornerback Josh Norman has hobbled around on an injured hamstring over the past several weeks.
A 2012 graduate of La Marque, Allen played receiver for the Cougars and was a key weapon in the program’s run to the 2010 4A, Division II state finals and the 2011 4A, Division II, Region III finals. Allen played collegiately at the University of Utah and earned second team All PAC-12 as a senior.
