Bolivar: GOOD. 67 degrees. Oversized redfish being caught using shrimp under a popping cork. Speckled trout and redfish are being caught by the shipwreck. Reported by Captain Raymond Wheatley, Tail Spotter Guide Service LLC.

Trinity Bay: GOOD. 67 degrees. Northern Trinity Bay including Burnett and San Jacinto bays are holding trout fishing good when wind allows. Best bait live shrimp fished under popping corks. Report by Captain David Dillman, Galveston Bay Charter Fishing.

East Galveston Bay: FAIR. 67 degrees. Galveston Jetties are holding keeper redfish, sheepshead, and black drum by those anglers using live shrimp casting near the rocks. Report by Captain David Dillman, Galveston Bay Charter Fishing.

Galveston Bay: GOOD. 67 degrees. Bull reds schooling in open water under diving gulls. A few sheepshead and black drum along rocks near the ship channel. Best bait live shrimp and soft plastics for the reds.Report by Captain David Dillman, Galveston Bay Charter Fishing.

West Galveston Bay: GOOD. 67 degrees. Anglers drifting deep shell in off colored water catching speckled trout and redfish using dark colored soft plastics. Report by Captain David Dillman, Galveston Bay Charter Fishing.

Texas City: GOOD. 67 degrees. Rough winds had the water choppy this past week, but the fishing was good if you could get out during the breaks. Flounder are good in the shallows of the harbor on live mullet or shrimp, and near Sea Wolf and the Dike using shrimp under a popping cork. Trout and redfish are good in Moses Lake, and Dollar Reef Point following the birds using shrimp under a popping cork, or plum chartreuse or pearl jigs. Freeport: GOOD. 73-74 degrees. Fishing has been ok due to warmer waters and possible pressure from so many fishermen out during the holidays. Brazos River is muddy. Sheepshead are good with limits coming in the boat. Finding eggs in the sheepshead which is an indicator of an early spawning seasoning. Drum and undersized redfish are good on live shrimp.

East Matagorda Bay: GOOD. 69 degrees. Redfish are in a feeding frenzy before this next front rolls through. Trout are good with reports of 28-inch catches. Drifting using plastics is successful. Report by Captain Charlie Paradoski, Captain Charlie Paradoski’s Guide Service.

West Matagorda Bay: GOOD. 69 degrees. Fish are confused thinking it is springtime with the warmer water temperatures. Wade fishing is producing the best results. Catching redfish on the flats with mullet. Fish are still in the Colorado River, but the daytime bite has slowed because the water temperature is up. The evening bite under lights is better.
